The UW ERIS observatory will be a permanent feature once installed off the UW School of Oceanography docks. The UW ERIS class, listed for variable credits, will be offered every quarter and in the future may set the foundation for the core coursework for a new degree program in Ocean Technology.

Students are currently in the process of planning a long-term schedule for the ERIS program. For the short term, some students will continue work on ERIS during Summer 2013 before the class officially continues in Autumn 2013.

By the end of Spring 2013, students will have more detailed plans of what needs to happen during the summer and fall quarters to keep ERIS on track.  Students are currently procuring and designing sensors, and will likely begin obtaining hardware pieces for the observatory node over the summer.
